Do we really know our best friends?

I just watched “A Simple Favor” on Netflix starring Blake Lively, I’ve loved her since Gossip Girl.

Do we really know our friends?

Blake plays the role of a snobbish school mom, Emily, who would make any soccer mom feel they’re not cool enough.

Stephanie is that mom who is always engaged very familiar with the schedules and activities ended up being “friends” or best friends even with Emily through the budding friendship that both their sons had formed and so had play dates together.

Emily and Stephanie had a strange relationship. They’d share secrets over dey Martini and causal banter. Emily’s husband was a struggling writer , both seemed to have it all figured out and the chemistry was there between them. Stephanie had lost her husband in a car accident and haven’t been dating anyone recently.

As mom’s we all need that one friend who understands the vigors of parenting, someone who understands that not all the time you want to “mom”. Stephanie was great, she had her Mommy vlog where she shared tips and tricks that can help other fellow mom’s. She would find her self doing these favours of picking up Emily’s son from school if she’s running late or her husband was out of town.

Things took a turn when one of those favours ended up with Emily missing for days. Of course Stephanie the concerned friend did all she could with trying to figure out what had happened, everything started falling into place and Stephanie is left to wonder. Do I really know this person with whom I’ve shared my deepest darkest secrets with?

I honestly did expect the plot twist. It’s a good watch. I’d give it

7/10.

Until Next time

Behind Her Eyes – Netflix Movie Review

Overview: A single mother enters a world of twisted mind games when she begins an affair with her psychiatrist boss while secretly befriending his mysterious wife.

If you have been searching for a movie to watch – “Behind Her Eyes” should be on your next watch list; especially for all my mystery and thriller readers. This movie will have you guessing and also challenge you into thinking that you have the movie all figured out when in fact your left surprised.

The Characters:

Adele : Very wealthy girl who lost her parents in a mysterious fire and was saved by her now husband David. She met another character Rob while undergoing treatment at a mental facility. Adele had a close relationship with Rob sharing similar complaints to that of night tremors. Rob was her only friend.

Rob: The bestfriend of Adele who was there with her while staying at a mental facility. Rob visited Adele one day and mysteriously goes missing.

David: Adele’s husband who would do anything possible to keep Adele happy. They had finally relocated  due to David’s new job and wanting to leave the past behind.

Loiuse : Single mother of a seven year old son Adam who is also recently divorced.

My Thoughts:

(Spoilers Included)

Netflix out did themselves with this limited series. I loved it thoroughly had me cursing like the true sailor. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat and its not one of those movies that you can multitask with , it needs your undivided attention for failure to miss major and crucial parts. If I were to sum up a theme for this movie “Minding Your Own Business” would do. Loiuse met David in a bar after being stood up by her friend Sophia. They hit it off from the start and enjoyed a good evening exchanging jokes and drinking. The chemistry was there and evidently for both something sparked between them and they shared a kiss which was very brief. Loiuse shows up at work the next day and discovers that the hot guy from last night would be her new boss.

Home girl was royally embarrassed and hid in the restroom. They eventually met officially and not before long they give into when feelings they had and slept together.

Things got out of hand when she met the wife ‘Adele’,they had coffee and soon become Bffs, Adele didn’t want Loise to disclose that they knew each other and Loise didn’t reveal she was the other woman.

Adele is a strange woman, you have to watch it to find out just how strange she is to go at length to be with her husband.

Rating 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Christmas Movies- Blogmas Day 6

Grab your blankets and your hot cocoas, egg nog, wine or coffee. Let’s talk about some of the movies that will definitely get you into the mood for Christmas. Netflix has some good ones that I’ve watched over and over again. The Princess Switch, Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2, Home Alone are really fun to watch.

These are some of my favorites:

1. Home A Lone (1,2&3)– funny and nostalgic home alone is bound to have you laughing in stitches. Kevin ( the main character) thinks of ways to prevent his home from being vandalized.

2. The Knight before Christmas.

A medieval knight is transported to the present day, where he falls for a high school science teacher who’s disillusioned by love.

3. A Wish for Christmas

Sara prefers to be on the sidelines at work until someone steals her big idea for a Christmas initiative. She makes a wish to Santa to gain the courage to stand up for herself, and he gives her 48 hours to discover how to speak her own mind.

4. The Princess Switch.

One week before Christmas, a duchess switches places with an ordinary woman from Chicago, who looks exactly like her, and they each fall in love with each other’s beaus.

5.Holiday Rush.

After being fired, a radio DJ moves in with his aunt, bringing along his four spoiled children.

6.The Grinch

The Grinch grows increasingly annoyed with the ever-growing festive cheer that engulfs the village of Whoville. So, he teams up with his dog to ruin the festive spirit by being a spoilsport.

7. The Christmas Chronicles

Siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce hatch a scheme to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. When the plan goes awry, the kids join forces with a somewhat jolly Saint Nick and his loyal elves to save the holiday before it’s too late.

8.A Christmas Prince

Christmas comes early for an aspiring young journalist when she’s sent abroad to get the scoop on a dashing prince who’s poised to be king.

9.Almost Christmas

Walter invites his four dysfunctional children home for Christmas a year after their mother’s death and hopes they can set aside their problems for a nice, traditional holiday.

10.The Best man Holiday

When college friends reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays, they find out just how easy it is for long-forgotten enmities and romances to be rekindled.

Most if not all are on Netflix. Did you see any of your favorites? What are some must watch Christmas movie?

Binge worthy Spanish films (#Netflix and Chill) 🍿

I got a notification 🔔 prompt today indicating that one of my Spanish series; Season 2 is airing tomorrow. I’ve already shared how hectic things are, I’m not sure how I’ll juggle that along with reading 2 books at once. I figured I’d share my unhealthy obsession with foreign language related movies. At first I was turned off my subtitles but baby listen overtime you’ll swear you’re a Spanish expert and you’ll follow the movies to the T. I also love that the movies have more episodes other than regular movies you’d watch….

I love my Columbian 🇨🇴 or Spanish focus films 🎬. They’re mostly centered around the cocaine industry. I think I have seen a thousand ways of how the drug business is run. No this is not the time and or the place and I’m not considering entering into it. Focus, I’m sharing my all-time favorite movies on Netflix and I hope you’ll check them out:

These are in no particular order,

1. La Reina del Sur

After years of blood, sweat and tears, a woman from humble beginnings finds herself in the perilous position of being a legend in drug trafficking. FYI anything that Kate Castillo is in is top notch.

2.Enemigo Intimo

A brother and sister were tragically separated at a young age and cross paths as strangers several years later on opposite sides of the law.

3.Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso

A poor girl seeks revenge on the Mafia who tries to separate her family… Who has the wits and guys to stand up to the Drug Lord- she does.

4.Ingobernable

First Lady of Mexico who, of course, ends up embroiled in plenty of political scandals. And if del Castillo looks familiar, that’s because you might recall she made headlines over the past few years for publicly supporting the Mexican druglord Joaquín Guzmán Loera, better known as El Chapo

5.Elite

Spoiled rich kids, love triangle, death….

6. Grand Hotel

This movie is based in the 1900’s Servant goes to Aristocatic hotel to find about the murder of his sister. He not only gets the help of the daughter of the owner but also falls in love. This is unheard of no servant is good enough for their daughter or so they think….

These are just my top 6️⃣. Do you watch Spanish films on Netflix? Let’s talk…

Until next post
