What I’ve Done -Melinda Leigh (Morgan Dane Series Book #4) #BookReview

Synopsis:

Haley Powell wakes up covered in blood, with no memory of the night before. When she sees a man lying in the backyard, stabbed to death, she has only one terrified thought: What have I done?

Agreeing to take the case as a favor to her PI friend Lincoln Sharp, Morgan must scale a mountain of damning circumstantial and forensic evidence to prove her client innocent. Haley couldn’t appear more guilty: her bloodstained fingerprints are on the murder weapon, and she has no alibi. But Morgan can’t shake the feeling that this shocked young woman has been framed.

Someone out there is hell-bent on sabotaging her defense, targeting Morgan, her partner, and especially Haley. Someone who will stop at nothing—and whose next move will be deadly.

My Thoughts:

Morgan Dane is damn good. She’s very intuitive, methodical, and very hands-on. No matter what she gets down to business and she leaves no stones turned. Innocent until proven guilty. She ensures that everything is reviewed and that her clients have what is needed to get through their cases. This case was a tough one all the evidence pointed to her new client. She had taken this case as a favor to Sharpe. He’d been so good to her she wouldn’t say no. This case was like no other; they were very close to the truth and whoever was guilty was gonna make damn sure that Morgan and team didn’t find out. Their life along with their client was in danger!

My heart gasped a few times I didn’t want anything to happen to Morgan, Lance or Sharpe. Things got serious but Morgans quick response saved the day once more.

Melinda is good. One minute you’d think you would know who the killer was but nope, your wrong, lol, Morgan will find out who though…

Sophie’s character adds warmth and fuzziness to the story as well as the characters. Her relationship with Lance is so pure.

Good things happened things are looking up for #MorLan. Awesome book. Maybe my favorite of the series thus far.

My rating is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you love a good suspense novel check out the series. Start at Book #1. The Romance is not bad it adds to the storyline and I’m not a romance novel kinda girl.

Bones Dont Lie-Melinda Leigh (Morgan Dane Series #3) #Book Review

Synopsis:

Private investigator Lance Kruger was just a boy when his father vanished twenty-three years ago. Since then he’s lived under the weight of that disappearance—until his father’s car is finally dredged up from the bottom of Grey Lake. It should be a time for closure, except for the skeleton found in the trunk. A missing person case gone cold has become one of murder, and Lance and attorney Morgan Dane must face the deadly past that’s risen to the surface.

For Lance, the investigation yields troubling questions about a man he thought he knew. But memories can play dirty tricks. For Morgan, uncovering each new lie comes with a disquieting fear that someone is out there watching, because someone is killing every witness tied to this decades-old crime. Morgan and Lance follow in the shadows of a relentless killer and walk right into the cross fire.

My Thoughts:

Wow! I have been enjoying the series. Morgan Dane has me up until late at night I refuse to put it down wanting to learn more. I love the suspense, the anticipation the anxiety the thrill of wanting to know what will happen next. If you’ve read this far you’d have known that Lance father was missing since Book 1. In this thought provoking chapter they were tasked with finding out what happened on the night of his disappearance now that evidence turned up showing a murder had took place. Lance grovelled with the thought of considering his Dad was a murderer and who left him only at 10 years old with his mother battling depression and other mental issues.

Lance, Morgan along with Sharp carried readers on a roller coaster ride trying to solve this mystery. Morgan knew she was close to the discovery she was in danger. You’ll be surprised to see what was eventually discovered on that night. I was shocked to find out that someone so close to the case had done the deed.

I also loved the scenes with Sophie, she’s such a sweetheart. Now fully warned up to Lance. Morgan and Lance are getting closer and I want to see if things will get more serious with them now that the girls have accepted Lance and all.

Melinda surely knows how to keep us users in suspense.

I gave the rating of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not A Book Review

If you read the title you’d have probably realized that I am not writing about a Book I’ve read and or want to read. I just thought I’d write something.

I woke up just now feeling restless, and unable to go back to sleep. The night air is blowing through my window and I can hear the sounds of crickets and frogs probably displaced by the showers of rain we had this afternoon. The fan in my room is swaying left to right because the AC unit is down and I would much rather have the fan than burn up.

It could be all the noise around me that’s preventing me from going back to sleep or the thoughts of uncertainty in my head. I’m scheduled to show up for work tomorrow, and there are tons of work left for me to do before I get to the office.

Have you ever been troubled with your thoughts that it kept you wondering what or how you’d solve the myriad of things going through it all at once? I just read an article what would you be doing with your life if money wasn’t an issue? The truth I would be traveling the world, all I would need is my tablet and my phone because that’s where it works. I’d be my own “Olivia Pope”. Yes I know that we have a pandemic dealing with so traveling may not be anywhere on my radar but that’s what I would be doing and or want to do.

I feel a little better I guess this writing things down helps. If you’ve read this far, you’re a gem. I hope that you’re having a peaceful night and not as restless as I am. I’m going back to reading my book until I fall asleep.

Until Next Time….
